
UEGCL at Africa Public Service Day 2025
On 7th July 2025, Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited spotlighted its transformative role in service delivery during the 14th Africa Public Service Day at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, held under the theme “Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve
Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps.” The exhibition brought together government ministries, departments, and agencies, showcasing innovations and citizen centric services. UEGCL’s presence underscored how reliable electricity generation undergirds essential services, from health delivery and education to digital platforms and economic activity. UEGCL highlighted its recent commissioning of the 600 MW Karuma Hydropower Station in
September 2024, currently the country’s largest project and a key pillar in boosting our generation capacity and reliability. Through its showcase, UEGCL reinforced its alignment with national development strategies, emphasizing infrastructure modernization, equity in service provision, and institutional resilience. This participation reflects UEGCL’s commitment to strengthening Uganda’s public institutions by providing dependable energy to power transformative services.
